I just recently discovered gin. Well, I mean I recently tried it and decided I liked it, other than in a martini (and I usually get a vodka martini anyway). I’m often trying out different mixers, and when I found fresh-squeezed maracuyá
nectar at the store I couldn’t resist trying it out. It’s so yummy, I’m going to share my simple recipe. I use a tall glass for this.
- 2 ounces gin
- 1 ounce maracuyá nectar (passion fruit nectar)
- 3 ice cubes
- Tonic water (enough to fill glass to the desired point)
Add to glass in the order listed above. Add more nectar if you want a fruitier tasting drink. Stir if you like, but I find that putting them in the order above gets everything mixed up right.
Enjoy!

Looks yummy, but I’m sure the hangover can be deadly with the sugar from the passion fruit! One of my favourites was caipirinha in Brazil. Ain’t gin but if you haven’t tried…I have a feeling you will like ti.

I’ve tried it once and didn’t care for it. Going to see if a different bartender makes a better one or may experiment on my own.
I’ve never had a hangover from drinks with sugar in them unless I didn’t drink enough water.

True, water is key!

Gin is my favorite. I generally don’t mix it with anything besides soda water, but passion fruit is a wonderful idea!

Gin and passion fruit work excellently! Sooo glad you’ve got into gin. Far better than vodka!
