Great Las Vegas Shows for Kids

Taking your kids to Las Vegas might seem like a recipe for disaster. There’s all that adult entertainment just calling your name, in a city that never sleeps, and you have kids in tow. Having a vacation in Vegas with your kids doesn’t have to mean either you or they are bored. Consider taking in some Las Vegas shows with your kids, and you just might have the time of your life!

Most people’s perception of Sin City is just that. A perception of a city of drinking, gambling and generally adult entertainment where anything goes. In recent years Las Vegas has attempted to change its image somewhat. There’s still all that great adult stuff, but now there are amazing things for kids to do too.

As well as an all-day pass to the Adventuredome in Circus Circus, visiting the Wax Museum, or riding roller coasters at New York, New York there’s the option to take your kids to a Vegas show or two. Quite a few Las Vegas shows for kids now exist. Think your kids won’t like a show or won’t sit through it? As a good guide, if they can sit through a movie at the cinema then they most likely can manage the Vegas show experience.

Next time you are thinking of taking your kids to Vegas why not consider putting some of these great Las Vegas shows on your agenda? Your kids will love them!

  • Tournament of King, Excalibur. This is one of the best shows for kids and it will keep the adults amused too. Imagine being seated in an arena where you get to cheer for knights as they gallop by on their horses? Every seat at Tournament of Kings is a good one and has a great view. The knights fly by on their trusty steeds and there is even a jousting competition where they knock each other to the ground. It’s very exciting stuff. Only made better by the fact that dinner is included in your ticket price and you get to eat your dinner with your hands. Kids love that! Soup, chicken, potato and dessert – no cutlery, just pick it up and dig in. This is a rowdy, fun night and you’ll be glad you chose this show for your kids.
  • Blue Man Group, Monte Carlo. Blue Man Group is a fantastic show jammed full of bright lights, amazing sounds and rock music. You will laugh out loud at this show, and the blue men themselves will not utter a word the entire time they are on stage. Remember to bring your camera since after you’ve been thrilled by their performance you and your kids can meet the Blue Man Group outside the theatre and have your photo taken with them. What a great souvenir to take home with you, and it’s absolutely free!
  • Magic shows. Kids love magic shows and the shows in Vegas are a cut above the rest. You have a few to choose from so start by checking out The Mac King Comedy Show, Nathan Burton’s Comedy Magic and V The Ultimate Variety Show. Each of these shows has reasonable ticket prices, and you can usually find a voucher floating around to get you in even cheaper. These shows also have sessions in the afternoon so you can entertain the kids and still leave time for adult entertainment once they are tucked up in bed (as long as you have a babysitter of course!).
  • If you’ve exhausted all of the above and you still have an appetite for more, take your kids to the Greg Popovich Comedy Pet Theatre. More than 30 prancing and performing pets will keep you entertained. There are cats and dogs, geese, mice and parrots all showing off their funny skills. It’s well worth a look with the littlies!

When you buy show tickets in Vegas make sure you never pay full price. There’s a voucher out there for every show, and failing that there are cheap tickets stands all the way up the strip. If you can stand to sit through a timeshare presentation, you can even get your tickets for free!

Once you have the kids all tired out, it’s time for your own amusement. There are so many casinos on the Las Vegas strip these days that you might not know where to start. And after a busy day with the kids you might not even have the energy to get out there and do your own thing.

Kids definitely don’t have to cramp your style on your next Las Vegas holiday!
