A little taste of Cuenca life
We live very close to one of the four rivers that run through Cuenca. Every time we walk by we see many locals washing their clothes in the river and then drying them by laying their laundry on the nearby grass. On weekends the whole family will be involved, and it’s a several-hour process.
A taste of indigenous Ecuador
We recently went to visit Cañari (pre-Incan) and Incan ruins outside of Cuenca. This photo is a door an indigenous home. One of the most photogenic doors I’ve ever seen. For more photos of Cuenca and some of the nearby ruins, check out our Facebook page.
Monday photo
I took this photo while in Baños de Agua Santa, the adventure capital of Ecuador. Water flows from a waterfall and comes directly into these basins where locals come to wash their clothes. It was kind of cool to watch.

I saw this abandoned hotel while we were en route to Barrio Chino, Havana, Cuba. It was one of those moments when you see something and think Wow! That would make a great picture! It’s one of my favorite shots.
