While living in Cuenca, Ecuador, we heard about the only Inca ruins in Ecuador.  I love visiting ruins, and these are a bit unique, so I couldn’t resist.  A local Spanish teacher was taking a group of people on a day trip that sounded wonderful, and we decided to join her and a handful of tourists. We came to this area for Tigger to take some surfing lessons.  We “discovered” this little beach town (Olón) while staying at a nearby resort and immediately fell in love with it and moved there after our stay at the resort was done.  Tigger and I both agreed this town has made it onto our list of places we’d live longer term. A little taste of Cuenca life

We live very close to one of the four rivers that run through Cuenca.  Every time we walk by we see many locals washing their clothes in the river and then drying them by laying their laundry on the nearby grass.  On weekends the whole family will be involved, and it’s a several-hour process.
