It depends who you buy it through. When I researched it, you could get it on Amazon for around $38 USD. And I totally don’t understand why they charge for WiFi! Absolutely ridiculous.

I’ve noticed significant speed increases when I go from 1 bar to 5. Just now we used it to boost the signal to our bedrooms because our WiFi router wasn’t quite making it that far, and the boy needs a signal in his man cave.

The security COULD be an advantage when you make a hotspot on your phone. When it comes to laptops you can get the same security performances as this device but you would have to know some technical things so this device is pretty good.

Regarding the boost of a week signal – I don’t know. Technically if your speed is 30Mbps just plugging in a device the speed won’t go up to 31Mbps.
