I’m so happy to hear that you’re going to Cuba. My husband, Tree, and I went there last year, and to this day, we think it’s the best country we’ve ever been to out of the 25 visited thus far! We stayed with a Cuban family in a Casa Particular (rented room in local’s house) and it was a warm and magical experience.  The room was more of a private apartment w/ kitchen, centrally located in Havana, and the family cooked meals for us, did laundry, and set us up with other Casa Particulars in other parts of the country when we traveled– all for a very reasonable price. If you’re interested in staying with the family (I highly recommend it), I will be more than happy to give you all their contact info. And if you have any other questions, let us know.
