We will be in Serbia next month, so I read this post with great interest. We were chatting (or attempting to, finally settled on Spanish as a shared language) with a Serbian gentleman here in Brussels the other day, and he insisted Novi Sad was a must-visit. And you concur. That's enough for me! We'll definitely head to Novi Sad.

In reply to <a href="http://1dad1kid.com/well-hello-there-serbia/#comment-252413">Sam</a>.

Interesting observation. I think it's probably because capitals tend to not have as much of the local culture (they tend to be more mixed) and can be more difficult to get around (because of their size). Not sure. It probably also depends on the capital. Like we adore London, Paris, Prague, Budapest, etc. With Romania, though, we liked everywhere but the capital. LOL

I'm not sure why bloggers don't tend to it either. I figure if I had an excellent experience with a hotel, apartment, lodge, etc., then why not share that with my readers?

You've got me wanting to visit Serbia now! It's funny how Serbia is the only country that uses both the Cyrillic and Roman alphabets officially and I can see how that must be confusing! It's also interesting how you guys liked Novi Sad much more than Belgrade - liking the second city more than the capital almost seems to be a theme with you! And I really appreciate the specific Airbnb recommendation. I feel like that's something more bloggers should do if they find a really good place, but often don't because...why?
