In reply to corinne nolan. I don't know of any sites specifically for single parents, really. Perhaps you can find some in general mom meetup groups. I'm not sure. Glad you're going for it despise the push-back you are getting from others. It's definitely worthwhile!

i have 3 kids 15 8 5yrs i wish to explore thailand for 3mths but everyone says oh no u can’t do that u won’t cope what about their schooling blah blah I’m going bottom line & would appreciate any tips or advise i also want to know if any websites for other single parents to meet up whilst over there thank you corinne

Hi. Thank you for this. I’m a single mom and am about to travel the US (I was going to do Central and South America first so we can learn Spanish) With my 10 year old son. I figured I’d do the US first because I’ve never traveled like this before. At least I know the language here. I just wanted to let you know how helpful your blog is and I’m nervous but it can be done. I’m looking for single parent travel blogs to inspire me. What I’m nervous most about me getting the time alone that I need. Like you said though I’ll just have to suck it up because his safety is the most important.

In reply to chloe dangelo. It really depends on what you do for work. Also, the age of your child and their ability to entertain themselves makes a big difference. It's really no different on the road than it is at home, especially if you find something you can do online or remotely.

It’s so important to recognize that we all need alone time. And yet, not always so easy to actually have it. I find I am able to have a decent amount of time alone or with just friends because Noah really makes room for it. Finding couple alone time, though, that almost never happens. I’m still trying to figure it out.

I totally get when you say sometimes you just have to suck it up and deal with it. As you say, the time we have one-on-one with our kids when they’re this age is irreplaceable. I wouldn’t trade our lives for a 9-5 schedule even with a community of babysitters nearby.

I also see how easy it is to let too much time pass without making sure to have that alone or couple time, and that can be problematic.
