Going on holiday is a way to not only get a break from our daily life but often it’s also about living a bit differently. Sometimes you want, need?, to be in the lap of luxury. While luxury stays obviously can cost quite a bit of money, they don’t always have to drain your bank account. After seeing this infographic and reading about how one of the stars of the hit Breaking Bad series rents out his home, I decided to check out some other possible ways one can live like a star, including some that won’t empty your bank account.
There are some really great celebrity homes available for rent! Here are just some of them.
You can lay your head down in the same place as Denzel Washington and Jimmy Page. This three-bedroom home is located on eight acres with views of Broad and Zuma beaches in Malibu, California. Guests have even reported seeing dolphins and whales!
Are you a fan of classic movies? Well, you can stay in the one-bedroom home previously occupied by Ava Gardner and one of her husbands. The house also has stables and a large library. And it rents for $85 per night!
Music fans may want to consider the two-bedroom home of Jim Morrison in West Hollywood. Unfortunately, there is a 30-day minimum stay, but at $3180 that’s actually pretty reasonable. It still contains some of his memorabilia and, reportedly, a “psychedelic shower curtain.” Now you’re really intrigued, aren’t you?
For $400 a night, you can stay in the former home of Howard Hughes in Palm Springs. It is comprised of three bedrooms and bathrooms split over three levels. The home has floor-to-ceiling windows with 220-degree views of Palm Canyon Arroyo and Palm Springs. It also includes some quirky features such as floor-mounted panels to control the lights, and the downstairs bathroom has a vanity featuring a built-in electric stovetop.
If you’re more of an outdoors-type person, then consider renting Ted Turner’s home in Raton, New Mexico. There are 21 trout-filled lakes on the property, and you can also hunt deer, elk, and bison. His Vermejo Park Ranch is two-thirds the size of Rhode Island, so you won’t feel cramped. Between April and November, two main lodges are available, but often his eight-bedroom Casa Grande is available as well.
In Los Angeles, you can rent the apartment where Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love used to live. And at $200 per night, or $1140 a week, it’s quite a good deal.
