Yes, he IS growing up. I keep threatening to stop feeding him so he’ll stay the same size, but I never follow through. At least so far he’s maintaining his sweetness. And so glad you’re inspired to chase your own dream! That’s what this blog is really all about!

I loved Flores when I went there and agree so much to it than just using it as a base to visit the ruins of Tikal. I loved jumping off the peers into the lake and floating around on tubes. I was there with Erica & Shaun… Shaun and I thought is would be an amazing idea to swim to the lil island in the middle. Umm bad idea but we made it.

I actually was ready to start looking for an apartment, but we wanted to get to Utila quicker so opted not to stay longer. Absolutely loved it there.

There’s something about how light reflects off the water that makes it seem very European. I always wish I could spend more time there.

The slide is still there, but it wasn’t functional when we were there. When I asked about it, I got different answers about it. Bummer, too, because it looked like it would be really fun.

Wondering why you didn’t mention the water slide on Petencito near the zoo.  Happily not your typical “Wet ‘n Wild” slide – just a rustic (slick cement as I recall) slide through the jungle, but you could catch a bit of air before abruptly dropping into the lake.  Is it not still there?
