Wasn’t that night market absolutely incredible! We found it on our 2nd night, and every night when we would discuss where we wanted to go for dinner it was like DUH. lol Even Tigger loved it and would ask to go.

I didn’t have high hopes either. I originally planned on 2 days just so we could see the ruins, but we immediately extended our stay.

It’s one of my favorite places in Thailand. Could easily live there if it wasn’t for the heat. lol

We were a bit leery of visiting Ayutthaya because we were coming from a month in Cambodia and a recent visit to the Angkor Wat complex. We wound up completely charmed by the ruins (and agree that we had most of them to ourselves) and were doubly won over by all the food we ate. We loved that night market—the selection was incredible, all of the food was fresh, the prices were unbeatable—and actually wound up extending our stay by several days just so we could visit it a few more times! 😉 I didn’t really have high hopes for Ayutthaya going in but it wound up being one of my favorite places in Thailand.

I only had 10 days in Thailand on my trip, so I didn’t get to visit Ayutthaya. I did see pictures of that Buddha head in a tree trunk on many guidebooks and really wanted to go. I love that second picture of the fallen Buddha head, by the way. 🙂

I regret not having visited Ayutthaya when I was in Thailand, looks like a great place.
