I think the smaller cities and towns in the Yucatan are definitely worth a visit. Valladolid is one of them. While Cancun has its own merits, I kind of prefer something away from the resort towns.

I don’t personally see many merits to Cancun, but to each their own.
I’ll stick with the more remote towns any day!
