A taste of indigenous Ecuador

We recently went to visit Cañari (pre-Incan) and Incan ruins outside of Cuenca. This photo is a door an indigenous home.  One of the most photogenic doors I’ve ever seen.

For more photos of Cuenca and some of the nearby ruins, check out our Facebook page.

I take too many photos of doors myself and later look at them and think, “It’s just a door.” This one is different, love the way the clay gobs at the top. It makes the door look like it had been pushed in to the wall while the wall was still wet.

Glad to know I’m not the only one with a collection of door photos. LOL Thanks! It had so much character I couldn’t resist.
