The Big Dream

Ever since I was a young adult and had begun to think of having children I have wanted to raise them in different countries so they could experience the world, different cultures, etc.   With Stevie being old enough to appreciate some of these things but young enough to still be flexible, the iron is hot.  Those of you who know me know I don’t believe on sitting on my dreams.  After working in intensive care, trauma, and now hospice for several years, my family motto has become:  Vivez sans regrets!  (Live without regrets!)  So I have decided to move forward with this dream and make it a reality.
We had already planned a trip to east Africa in fall of next year, after the rainy season ends.  My plan is evolving still, but currently the plan is we will go to Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar, and Egypt.  From Egypt will fly to Thailand and begin the next adventure in the city of Chiang Mai.  The idea is to stay at least a year and then consider moving to another country or staying put longer.  We will take things as they come.
While the logical part of my mind is nervous, I see things coming together, and it feels so completely right.  I just can’t ignore that.
Like I said, the plan is still evolving.  I hope you’ll join us for the Journey through this blog.

I will be following and living vicariously through you and Stevie. What an absolutely fantastic opportunity for one so young. And you getting to show him the world and different cultures…wow. I am looking forward to the pictures and stories. Stevie is a very lucky kid to have you and you are so blessed to have him. And I am just as blessed to know you!

Talon, I love your photos! All are appealing and many reveal an artistic composition esthetic.

I love also your mastery of the spoken word! (For example, “I’m not ADD. I’m a ‘look squirrel.’”

would love to see a photo of you and Tigger.

What a great dad! Getting your child to discover the different cultures, places and people is one of the most precious gift you can offer him. Especially if he is still young, it will help a lot to open his mind to different things! You guys are lucky and I wish to you only the best. I follow you 100%.
